26 weeks!!

My baby ticker is officially under 100 days!!! Of course I hope it is more like 80 days before the twins are born, but when I found out I was pregnant on November 26, 2007, I had like 245 days to go! Everything has been going well so far. Weight gain is 30-31 pounds, heartburn is everyday, but managable with Zantac, and my feet have started to swell in the late afternoon. Looking at these pictures, I can see where people would think I am due soon!

The nursery is all cleared out and ready for painting. Life is crazy up until May 10th, so I hope just to paint the ceiling by then and do the rest after! Hopefully we can get some stripes on the walls like these: Next doctor appt. is May 9th!

How will I EVER Manage!

So, I am to the point where people are asking me when I'm due, so I take that to mean I look due any day! I feel silly when I say August, but probably July and then explain it's twins.

As I am walking to my Micro class (it was the last one *clapping*) this women goes on to ask if they are my first and I say no, I have a two year old. Then she was like, "OH!" She proceeds to tell me a story (and we all know people have one to share and it's usually about how hard it's going to be...fine by me) about her good friend that was a successful, very well put together lawyer who had a two year old and then twins. She waited a few weeks before visiting her friend, so the friend could adjust. When she went to visit her very composed lawyer friend, she was a "train wreck." She said her friend was a mess and was asking her if she was there to help.

I can't imagine what this woman thought of me handling my kids. Obviously I am not a LAWYER, so I guess if the very well put together lawyer couldn't handle it, then I am really screwed because she probably perceived me as a college student. Get my meds ready! LOL, I had to laugh!

For my birthday, I would like this:

Ok I get it, someone's going to be crying, hungry or dirty and my house is going to be a disaster! Life will go on!!! :) But they will all be loved! How will I ever do it? ROFL!

I'm Scattered

OK, so I should be studying for my Micro test that is tomorrow, but I'm unfocused. I have regressed to 80's music. In addition to my recent George Michael obsession, I am adding Boy George and ABC. What's happening to me? I think I will do a weekly video. Here's the video this week (Look of Love by ABC):

My Psych professor finally graded my second homework. Since she decided my first homework was equivalent to "B" work, I upped the ante a bit. Her homework (busywork) consists of ten questions and for all you must define and give examples. But, usually each question will have multiple parts. I spent about five our six hours doing the first one and THOUGHT I was pretty thorough. I guess not, since I earned a B. My first homework consisted of 1,200 words. Well, since I could not afford a B on my second homework, I spent about 10 hours on it and wrote 2,800 words. Yes, that's easily a term paper, plus some. I got my grade back last night and what do you know, she gave me a 100. Good lord, her expectation for beginning Psych is a bit over the top. So, I need an 88 on the next test and 30/33 on the homework and I should have my A. YAY!

It occurred to me during my dinner tonight I have not run since mid-November. I miss running. I'm ready to get out there and log some miles. David started back to running this week. He went to log his mileage at the coolrunning website and our logs were gone. I have many miles on my log; I can't afford to lose it! Luckily, some computer savvy person posted how to retrieve it. Since 2001, I have logged 2,822 running miles, 2,997 biking miles, 70 swimming miles and some other workouts. That's cool. Luckily, the log was salvaged!

Onto some baby news! I SAW the babies kick today. They are getting stronger and movements are bigger. It's a real treat when they are both moving around! I can't believe I am almost 25 weeks. Third trimester, here I come!!!

I only have 11 more days of actual teaching in my teaching career. May 8th is the last day of teaching for me! WOW!!! The last day of work isn't until June 3rd though.

OK, must resume studying!! Only 4 more days of class!!

24 Weeks!

We've reached viability! YAY! But, the babies still have a lot of growing to do. Looking at my belly photos from today, it occurs to me I am going to be HUGE! I remember my sister being huge, but I think I will surpass her hugeness! 24 weeks now, easily looks like 34 weeks with Addison. I'm going to be a tank! People are starting to ask, "When is your baby due?" I wonder if they think I look like I could go at any day! LOL When I tell them it's twins, they comment that I look small. What? Just being nice, I imagine. I didn't gain any weight this week, in fact I lost two pounds. Not sure how that happened. Heartburn is still a daily occurance, but with Zantac twice daily, it is bearable. Three weeks until my next appointment. Baby B still does not have a name. Reid Gavin? We're really struggling.

We Have BOY GIRL Twins!!!!

Today we went for our level II ultrasound. The technician was very nice, but had some problems deciding who was baby A and who was baby B. She decided baby a was baby b and vice versa. Once she decided, she was on her way with measurements. She asked me if I wanted to find out genders and I said yes, but that I would like to wait until David was with me. She had a hard time getting all the measurements she needed and couldn't get any structures of baby B's face. Baby A was all curled up and baby B was stretched out, but face down. When she finished, she called in the doctor. When the doctor came in, she established the babies were the other way around, baby B was indeed A and baby A was indeed baby B. Very confusing! I was there awhile. They were happy with what they saw as far as development, but since I was only 17 weeks, they were unable to get the vessels going into the heart. They would also like to get the structural measurements of Baby B's face. In six weeks, they will repeat the ultrasound once the babies are a little bit bigger.

I mentioned to the tech when she asked about gender that we were hoping for a boy and a girl. I said we had a two year old girl at home and if it was two more girls, she would have to scrap us from the ceiling! So, of course she showed us baby A first, and she was a girl. We both gasped and said, "Oh no, it's two girls!" But, as soon as she put baby B's parts on the screen I could immediately see he was a boy! David and I are thrilled Addison will have a sister and brother, and we will have a son and two daughters. It was a very exciting moment!

Sweet Baby Girl showing us her face! She weighed 6.5 ounces.
Baby girl's name is going to be Landry with a pending middle name of Elise.

Baby A (girl) in breech position and Baby B (boy) in vertex position.

Baby Boy showing us his goods! He weighed 6 ounces.Baby boy's name is pending at Landon with no middle name yet. I like Landon Reid though.

After the ultrasound, we went up for my appointment with Dr. Anding. Everything is going well. My blood pressure was 122/over 60 something. My blood pressure never goes into the 120's, so I hope this is not a sign of things to come. My blood work from the last visit came back normal. I did get in trouble for not exercising though. I gained what he wanted me to gain, but since he knows I am normally so active, he probably is not happy I turned into a lazy pregnant lady! I vowed to walk the dog more. My next appt. is at 21 weeks on March 28th and another ultrasound at 23 weeks on April 9th.
