Today we picked up one of Addison's BFFs and headed over to Mercer Aborateum to play! It's much prettier in the spring of course, but we still had lots of fun. I took first shift and David went for a run. Then I went for a run and when I got back, there were three cop cars and David had everyone loaded. As it turns out, a van dropped off some girls and they started fighting. A woman called the police, and then the kids took off. Really, at a park? We ventured to go to the aborateum at that point and do some exploring. There was a lot of walking involved, and I think everyone got tired! Mission accomplished! We'll head back in the Spring when the flowers are bloomed!

Time really does go by too fast! Addison is six years old! She choose to have her birthday party at The Little Gym. She loves this place. This is her third birthday party there! It was neat to have her birthday and birthday party fall on the same day! It makes the day extra special when you can celebrate with all your friends!

Addison loves to sing. Her favorite artists now are Selena Gomez, Hannah Montana, and Taylor Swift. So, I made a CD with all her favorite songs so she can sing away on her new Barbie Karaoke!

Landry and Landon weren't feeling so great, so they spent their time in my lap. They ended up going home early and didn't get cake. Weeks later they are still asking about Addison's party and if we're going. Poor things!

They are partners in crime for sure! They get along very well most of the time. Landon looks after Landry all the time and always needs to know where she is. He's protective of her and comforts her. She is the leader and he is her shadow. When she is hurt or sad, he brings her her lovey. Hopefully they will always be best friends!

Boo at the Zoo

The weather for the zoo was perfect for Zoo Boo, and most of Houston thought so too! That's ok. We always enjoy Zoo Boo despite the crowds! We got to see the new elephant exhibit and learned that adult females and their babies shun the adult male. That's why the grown females and the baby elephants live together and the male lives by himself. Sad. Addie couldn't understand why he had to be by himself. I asked her if we should do that to daddy and she said no! haha

Off to the Pumpkin Patch

Landon's been talking about going to the pumpkin patch for weeks. We decided to head to a little pumpkin patch and go to our favorite one after Halloween because it was super busy and hot last year when we went. This little place was just right though. We picked up a nice pumpkin to carve and some gourds. Landon's gourd looks like an egg, Landry calls hers a star, and Addison picked out a nice variety! Landry wasn't a pick fan of sitting in the spot with all the pumpkins because of the flies.
For someone who only talked about going to the pumpkin patch for weeks, he sure looks thrilled!

Playdate with Zach

It's the best time of year to go to the zoo. Zoo Boo! The temps are usually cooler and the park is all decked out for Halloween! We decided to meet up with our good friends Jen-nay and Zach and see what the animals were up to!

First Day of Kinder

Addison was very excited about today! She and mommy went to Schlitterbahn yesterday and played in the water all day. She was exhausted and had a good night's sleep! I woke her up at 7:00 am and she ate her breakfast and got ready. We took a few pics while daddy loaded up the twins and then we were off. She was greeted by her friend Corey as soon as she entered the school. Understandably, she didn't remember where her teacher's classroom was! There were a lot of people there and it can be very confusing for a five year old! She was very excited to see two friends from her Montessori school! It's nice when you know someone!

It's hard to believe three years has gone by! They have grown so much. At birth, Landry weighed 5 pounds 10 ounces and Landon 5 pounds 5 ounces. At their three year check up, Landry weighed in at 28 pounds, and Landon at 31 pounds. They are out of the 10th percentile from last year. Landry is the 30th percentile for height, and 20th for weight. Landon is at the 50th percentile for both height and weight. Not bad for three years time!

Blueberry Picking We Will Go

This was Addison's second trip to pick blueberries. She was three the first time. She actually did much better when she was three! She wasn't worried about ants and bugs as much! This was the twins first time! We went late in the day so the heat wouldn't be too bad, but the snow cone stand was closed. That was a disappointment for sure!

Noah's Ark Pool

Today we headed out with buds Jen-nay and Zach for a little fun in the sun! Every May we head out to this cute little pool for little tykes. Everyone had a blast. Landon wouldn't go in the tunnels or on the slides, but he still says he had fun! Our time got cute 30 minutes short when some poop was found in the slide. Oh well, we'll just have to go back!

Ironman Texas May 21, 2011 Race Report I started my day at 4:15 am. I didn't sleep well the night before. At best I had 3.5 hours of sleep. I anticipated my sleep would not be great, so I had a two hour nap the day before the race. I slept at my friend Jen's house which was about 10 minutes from the race site. She made me a fabulous sandwich for breakfast, and I made a bagel with peanut butter and some coffee. I headed to the bike transition and pumped up my tires. On the way back to the car I realized I forgot to put my water bottle and salt tablets on my bike. I walked back to the car, back to my bike, and then back to the car. People were out running to warm up. Um, no thank you! Why add any extra effort to an already long day! Next, I drove my car to the swim start. I went and got my body marked and then back to the car to finish my bagel. David called and was on his way. I waited for him to show up and we walked back to the swim start together. I was surprised to see him beforehand. We took some pics together, then he went off to the bridge to watch and I went to the port-o-potty line. I was in the port-o-potty line when the pros started at 6:50. I moved to the swim start minutes before the gun went off. I found a spot in the water, but the guy in front of me needed a six foot circumference to tread water and kept kicking me. He mumbled something and then gave me a dirty look. At this point people started panicking, or something, and arms and legs were everywhere. People were shouting to calm down and relax. I decided it was best to find a new spot and moved to the left. Shortly after, the gun went off. I was happy to have gotten in the water just in time. People were still entering the water at this point. David said some people had been treading water for 40 minutes before the start. I can't imagine. The Swim: The swim start was total chaos. It was very scary for me. My arms and legs were getting pulled down, I was getting kicked, and people were everywhere. At one point, I thought I would drown. I had to keep telling myself to relax and find some open space. I tried to site a canoe in case I needed to regroup. I couldn't spot one. One of my fears was someone would kick my goggles and I would lose a contact. Of course it happened. I got kicked in the face early on. My left goggle filled with water and it seemed like my contact came out. I knew I couldn't stop because I would get run over so I tried to get the water out and swim at the same time. I managed to get the water out. Finally, the water opened up a little. Enough. It must have been about a mile out. Every once in awhile someone would be aggressive. I did purposefully kick one person to get them off of me. They didn't touch me after that. When I would blink, it felt like my eyelashes were touching something, so I felt reassured I didn't lose my contact. I kept thinking as soon as I exited the water, I would check my goggles to see if it was in there! After about two miles, we entered the canal and it became congested again. There were a lot of spectators on the sides. I could hear lots of cheering and cowbells. It was pretty cool! My goal time was 1:15 to 1:20. Finish time 1:15:19 I checked my goggle after getting out and didn't see the contact. Maybe it was in my eye? Off to transition. T1 On the way to T1, the volunteers call out your number so other volunteers can grab your bag for you. It was very smooth. I grabbed the bag and ran into the girl's tent. Another volunteer dumped my back out for me and I quickly changed (with her help of course) into my tri outfit. She helped me get all my stuff on, and I was off. She handled my stuff from there! It was very nice! Goal time was 12 minutes and I was out in 8 and some change! The Bike: We were warned on the bike there would be a tailwind the first half and not to burn all our energy. Good to know. Being a good swimmer has it's disadvantages. Everyone passes me on the bike. It's not my strength to begin with so I try not to let the negative thoughts enter when I pass no one. Plus, everyone has aerobars, and I don't. OK, I really need a triathlon bike. Next race for sure! I liked the bike portion. Most of it. The first 25 miles were flat country and then some rolling hills started. Around mile 30 there was some misty rain. It was nice though and there was lots of cloud cover which was perfect. Every ten miles were the aid stations. You just shouted out what you wanted (water or Ironman Perform) and someone would run along side you and hand it off to you. You could also grab a banana, gel, or Powerbar. There were port-o-potties too if you had to do your business. Somewhere mid course we went through Sam Houston State Park. That was pretty cool. For the front half I knew I was ahead of my goal pace and I felt ok, like I wasn't working too hard. Around mile 53 or so we turned into a head wind. My first thought was the back half of this thing was going to be pure hell. Soon after, we came upon the special needs bags. I grabbed my Pringles, pretzels with peanut butter and banana. The head wind lasted about ten miles and then it was a crosswind again. Overall, I didn't think it was too strong. My hundred mile ride prepared me for this. That particular ride was head wind from hell. By mile 80, my feet started to hurt and I really wanted to ditch the bike. There was a lot of backed up traffic on the roads. Around mile 90 I was passing a pasture with five horses near the fence. Just as I was passing, they all started running off. That was pretty cool. Miles 90 to 100 had a tailwind again. I thought I'd be done soon. PHEW! Around mile 100 came a headwind again. The last 12 miles seemed to last forever and I just wanted to be done! Goal time 7:30:00. Actual time: 7:09:13. Cool beans. T2: Yet another wonderful volunteer who was willing to do anything to make my life easier. She grabbed me several waters, helped me with my shoes, got some wipes for my face, and was there by my side until I left. I brushed my hair, took in some children's antacid tablets (it's all that was in the house), and Advil. The girl across from me asked the volunteer if there were any salt tablets so I gave her mine. I had taken plenty to this point and had more in my fuel belt. Goal time was 12 minutes and I was out in 12 minutes and some change. The Run: Some volunteers put some sunscreen on me as I left for the run. This is where I knew I would feel the heat. The temperature projections were in the upper 80's. I could feel every bit of that at this point. My best bet was to walk until it cooled down. So, I walked. The aide stations were every mile and they had lots of ice cold sponges and ice. I happily took the sponges and put them in the back of my jersey along with ice. This seemed to help keep me cool! The run course was three loops of about nine miles each. The last three or so miles of each loop was along the waterway and the crowds were amazing. So many people were there to tell you what an awesome job you were doing, how strong you looked (when you obviously couldn't have) and you were going to be an ironman. The crowds were so energetic and I really enjoyed interacting with them when I had the energy. When it was time to come to loop two and three, you had to loop around the finish line area and the energy from the people was so overwhelming. You could hear the announcer calling, "....you are an ironman," and the music was blasting. It was by far the most amazing finish line I have ever seen. My friend Jen and her husband Allen were at miles nine and 16. It was fun to have someone to walk with even for a minute. My right leg was cramping on the second loop so Jen (just so happens to be a physical therapist) helped me stretch it. As luck would have it (or Jen's mad skills) the leg was just fine after that! Kingwood Triathlon Club was set up right after Jen, and Tina (former president of the club) had a lot of energy and smiles to share! So nice to see familiar people. She even made me laugh until my cheeks hurt! I got a little choked up at the end of lap two when I saw a friend of mine sitting on a brick wall and shivering. Medical help was there to assist her so I knew she would be ok. I said a prayer for her and knew loop three had to be for her. I saw several athletes being treated on the course, but it hits a different spot when you see someone you know. At or around mile 19, I started to feel a little out of sorts. It was time to walk and sort it out. I took in some cola and maybe that helped. I walked most of 19, 20, and 21. Another friend (another Jen at that) and her husband were around mile 20 so I stopped briefly to say hello and be cheered on! She was amazed at how happy I seemed. I told her I was just delusional at that point! It really meant a lot to me that my friends would come out all that way just to see me for a minute. How awesome is that! Mile 22 offered something different: licorice! I was so happy to get something I actually wanted to eat, so I took two pieces. After finishing the licorice, I was good to go. It was time to bring this home. I walked/jogged my way in. Once I hit the finish line area, I knew I couldn't walk (too many people there) so I jogged in. As I approached the finish line, I ran, screamed, high fived people and went in like a crazy person! All day I waited to here those words, "Susan Marchand, you are an ironman." I never even heard them. I heard my name after I crossed the finish line, and I'm sure he said it, but I didn't hear it. It didn't matter. I knew what I had accomplished and I was just so happy to be finished. Someone escorted me as I got my medal and took my finisher's photo. She asked if I was ok, and after I said yes, I went on my way! Goal time: 6:20. Finish time 6:08:18. My goal was to finish under 16 hours. Total time: 14:52:15 I was cool with that! Will there be another ironman in my future. Of course! But not until the kids are in school and I can train properly. And not until I have a triathlon bike! Maybe in 2015!

Today we met up with our Mom's of Multiples group for some fun with candy! The Galleria can be a tricky area if you don't know where you're going, but we lucked out! When we came out of the elevator from where we parked, Dylan's Candy Bar was right there! Phew!

New Beds

The time has come! Landry moved into Addison's room and Addison took over the guest room. Landon got his bed from Addison, and the girls got new beds! I thought I would have the girls get a bunk bed, but not after watching Landry jump like a monkey on the top bunk. So, everyone has a big bed now and their own room!

Oh Tooth Fairy, where are you?

Tonight we moved Landon's bed from Addison's room to Landon's room, and broke down the cribs. We put the crib mattresses in Addison's room while we wait for the girl's beds to be delivered. Landon didn't want to be alone (go figure), so we were all camped out in Addison's new room trying to go to sleep. Just when things were winding down, Addison burst out, "I lost my tooth." She was so excited!! The tooth has been wiggly for a couple of weeks now, but super wiggly today! Here are pics of her new smile:

While we were exploring flowers, we journeyed on to the local botanical gardens. This place has nothing on the Fort Worth botanical gardens, but it was still an adventure for the kids!

Bluebonnet Time

I almost forgot about taking pics with the bluebonnets this year! Yesterday I did a 75 mile bike ride that was called the Bluebonnet Express, and so I had lots of time to think. While seeing the bluebonnets on the ride (though the first bluebonnet didn't appear until mile 25), I remembered about taking the kids to the bluebonnets! The twins were very hard to pose in the bluebonnets this year! They did a great job not to pick the flowers though and were cautious not to step on them! Landon did manage to pick an Indian Paintbrush. I guess I should have told them not to pick the blue OR orange flowers! They plucked a few pink and yellow ones, but that was ok by me! My sweet girls!

The twins do have conversations now, which is super cute. I wonder what they are saying here!

Carnival Time

Houston Rodeo 2011 We had a difficult time getting there with all the traffic and finding a cash lot to park in, but once we got on the bus, all was better. Addison was excited to ride in the bus. We had lots of fun at the petting zoo and riding the rides. We got to one pony ride as they were just closing it down because the ponies were anxious, and then other one closed right as we got there. So, we missed the pony rides. That's ok though, because there was plenty to see and do! We had cotton candy, popcorn, and dipping dots! We closed the place down and everyone fell right to sleep in the car! Looking forward to going next year!

Happy 39th Birthday to David. Ten years ago, when David turned 29, it was very traumatic for him! He made a lot of comments about turning 30 and it was clear he was not happy about it. Today, David turned 39 and handled it very well! I guess he's in a happier place now! haha

So, to celebrate his birthday we went to Joe's Crab Shack!

I called Ms. Stacy to see if she could watch the kids. She said "yes!" Phew!

Landry has missed Ms. Stacy. She wouldn't leave her lap!

Twin's Party

Landry and Landon have been at there new school for about six weeks. They are adjusting well. They have to be together though to feel safe. When the new semester starts, they will be in the same class except for the afternoon, they will split up for a couple of hours. I'm hoping this will foster some independence on Landon's part. He loves Landry and needs to know where she is at all times!

We started the party of with some singing of the carols. Landry shook her antlers to ring her bells and Landon had some hand bells. I was wondering why she kept shaking her head back and forth. She was the only one really doing it! They certainly weren't playing Willow Smith's, "Whip My Hair!"

Being silly. I think she was hoping for a more active roll!

There's this fun little place we decided to check out this year. It is outside College Station. We went on a hayride to look at amazing lights, had fun watching the kids (and adults) do some bullriding, pet some animals, make smores, and listen to some music. It was such a fun little place, we are going to go every year. We went after Christmas, which turned out to be great because it wasn't crowded at all! Much more enjoyable when you don't have to deal with too many people!

Christmas morning we awoke to Landon screaming, "Train, train!" We went out to see what all the commotion was about, and found the twins opening presents without anyone else. What I suspect happened was the puppy that Santa brought was motion activated by the twins, and so they unwrapped it. Next, they must have decided to open another and luckily it was the train that Landon wanted. At this point we woke up. Thankfully, the twins did not open all the presents without u,s and more importantly did not open Addison's presents (minus said puppy)!

We had a great Halloween! I was a little concerned that Landry and Landon wouldn't wear their costumes, but Addison had a fall festival at school the other day so they got to get used to having them on. Plus, I kept saying we were getting candy and they had to wear their ears to get it. That seemed to work just fine!!

Landon was very excited to go door to door and get candy! He even said "thank you" and "bye!"

This was our second trip to Dewberry Farm. The farm is super fun. The day started off rough though because it was way too hot for October and the place was extremely busy. We thought about just calling it quits and going home, but I'm sure glad we didn't. After about 3 p.m., the crowds thinned out and the temperature started to drop. We ended up closing the place down! It was a blast! Look forward to going again next year!

Berry Pickin' Fun

Today we ventured off to the local strawberry farm to pick (and eat) strawberries. It was such a beautiful, sunny day. Perfect weather for picking berries. The farm was huge and we only had to stay in a couple of rows to fill buckets full of ripe red strawberries!

Today we went and met some other mom's of multiples out for a play date. Fun was had by all. Landry enjoyed climbing and playing with the bubbles, Landon enjoyed the bubbles and balls, and Addison liked jumping on trampolines and hanging upside down! The 45 minutes went by entirely too fast and I think we could have used another 45 minutes for sure! Maybe we'll make this a part of the Monday regimen and start the week of right!!!

Addison and I attended her first hockey game today. She seemed to enjoy it! If I tried to have a conversation with anyone around me, she would say, "Mommy, you're not paying attention!" They wouldn't let me bring my camera in because the zoom lense was too long. I could have gotten a good pic of "Chilly" if they did! Oh well, next time! Our seats were so high off the ground that my feet could not touch the ground. That was a little weird. I felt like I was five! We enjoyed cheering, doing the YMCA, eating popcorn, and hanging out with other families with multiples!!

Houston Mounted Police Patrol

Today we joined the KAMOM (Kingwood Area Mothers of Multiples)group at the Houston Mounted Police Patrol! We brought our carrots and were ready to feed the horses. They have a very nice, new facility and welcome groups to come in and see their horses. They have quite a bit of acreage in the back and are building a covered arena.

We've been in this house for three years. We've had our bird feeder out all this time and this spring is the first time we have had a cardinal!!! Nothing against the finches, they are welcome too, but I like to get some red and blue birds as well! Still waiting on the bluejays! We even have our own pair of doves!!

Job Interview!

All dressed up for only one reason, job interview!!!! I met with the human resources person who then took me to the unit manager. I will keep my fingers crossed that I get this position. It would be for well-baby, and NICU level II and eventually level III, plus I would get to work in transition and go to births! How cool would that be!!??

I think the interview went well. I was there for two hours, that has to mean something, right!? The unit manager took me around and introduced me to all the nurses who were working on the unit. With my 100 applications out there, hopefully this will be it! I would be very happy to discontinue the job search and just start working! Please, call me and say, "you're hired!"

He even likes to play with Addison's doll house and push her stroller. He is protective of Landry, but is not afraid to inflict his own harm on her (he likes to pull her hair). This boy loves to eat and pretty much will eat anything. His new favorite food is pistachios. David called him Linus the other day. He drags his blue camouflage blanket around with him. He loves his paci and sucks on it all day long. He and Addie have very similiar personalities and looks and I often say, they should have been the twins. He is Landry's shadow though. He follows her around pretty much all day. We call him the "caveman" from time to time. He grunts a lot to get his needs met and has since he was a baby. He is using more words now though! Such a cute boy he is!

One day she hopes to be a ballerina, and every time we leave gymnastics, she had to go and watch them! She has been practicing standing on her toes! She loves the twins and is the best big sister. She knows when they have dirty diapers and will always tell. She is very protective of them. For some reason, she loves to carry Landry around all the time, but she never carries Landon around. I guess she thinks Landry is a doll. Her memory is amazing, and she can remember the smallest of things! Addison is delightful and we are so proud of what a great big sis she is!

Man, it's been awhile. I almost got swallowed up for a few months there! The kids have grown so much. In the time I have been gone from the blog, the twins learned to walk, and Addison has started going three days a week at a montessori school. We've been busy, but I love it!

We went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch and while his sister's were playing in the play area, Landon was discovering how much fun ice cream cones are!!!

First Gymboree Class

The babies went to their first Gymboree class today. We just did a trial to see how well it would go. They seemed to enjoy it, so we are going to enroll! I was afraid Landon would cry the whole time. At first he just followed Landry around and then he did his own thing. Addison used to love to go to Gymboree class. She was always a daredevil and made the other moms gasp at her stunts, so hopefully her sister and brother will follow in her footsteps. It never failed, at every class at least one mother would gasp at Addison. It was great! Addison is crazy like that. Anyway, here are pics from their first class!

There's a blueberry farm not too far away that the local Moms of Multiples group was going to today, so I decided Addison and I would go. The high today is supposed to be 98, but I think it was only 90 while we were out there. Too hot for babies! The babies can check it out next year when they are toddling around. There were TONS and TONS of blueberry bushes. You can get a pound of blueberries for just a buck fifty. Pretty good I say! Addison loved picking them. We picked for just under an hour and filled half of our bucket. A lot of the blueberries look like they will be ready for picking next week, so maybe we will go back! Today, we picked two pounds. FUN! After picking, we had a snow cone.

Noah's Ark Pool

Today I took Addison and the babies to the Noah's Ark pool. She loved it and didn't want to leave. The babies didn't get to play, but I think they enjoyed themselves anyway! The place was flooded with tots, preschoolers and mommies!

We decided to take a trip to San Antonio and visit Shamu. We were at the park for 11 hours straight and the babies did awesome! They didn't even fuss a bit! They loved all of it. Addison was a little apprehensive about things getting her, but once she realized all animals were contained in there respective pools, she was ok!!

This is Day 3 of Ms. Glendy's Water Babies Class. Addison is very confident on land and very scared in the water. I was surprised to see her trust Ms. Glendy immediately. She cried of course, but she wasn't clawing her nails into her like I thought she would!

Nine Months

The twins had their nine month well-baby today! They are growing so big! Here are the stats:

Landry:
Weight: 17 pounds 13 ounces
Height: 26.25 inches
Head Circ: 16 7/8 inches

Landon:
Weight: 17 pounds 15 ounces
Height: 27.75 inches
Head Circ: 17.25 inches

They are both crawling now. Sometimes they go in the same direction and other times they go their separate ways! They seems to show interest in the same toy from time to time, but are ok sharing for now! Landry pulls up to a standing position and is starting to cruise; Landon pulls up to his knees. Landry has two teeth, and Landon has four. Landry can wave, and Landon can hold his bottle. Landry enjoys her thumb, while Landon enjoys his paci! Big sis still enjoys both her thumb and her paci! Both babies got tubes in their ears on April 2nd for residual fluid after ear infections. By 11:30 a.m. (after the surgery) they were both crawling around like nothing happened. They seem to be doing better now. I think Landon might even be babbling more. They seem to be sleeping a little bit better at night as well, which is always a good thing for all parties involved! They love to eat puffs, yogurt, and they just recently had pancakes! They grooved on those! Soon we will pull out the walker and the sippy cups! It's hard to believe they are growing so fast!

Today Landon learned to crawl. It started as more of a scoot crawl, but he can get to where he wants to go. It's cute really! He'll be keeping up with Landry (who has been crawling about a month) in no time. Soon enough, they'll be going in two different directions, and I'll have a real problem on my hands. The kids and I headed over to my friend Leslie's house for some playtime. Addison had fun dressing up with Taylor, Landry enjoyed crawling around with Ryan and Landon just enjoyed hanging out. Eight Months!

We have come a long way in such a short time. Landry and Landon both weigh at least 17 pounds. Landry crawled the other day for the first time. She didn't go far, but she figured it out! Landon is moving a lot more now. He rolls and turns all over the place. He has gotten up on all fours a few times. Both babies love fruit. Landon REALLY likes pears. Neither like green beans and peas. Major gag-fest on the green veggies. Well, they do like avocado! YUM! Landon's top teeth are coming in and Landry is getting her first bottoms! Landry is sitting up and Landon still topples over. He's rubber band man! Landon has had an ear infection for about six weeks now and is on his third antibiotic. Hopefully his hearing is intact. He doesn't seem to respond well to loud noises or his name. Maybe he's just ignoring me. Something to get checked out further at the nine month well-baby for sure. I'm fine if he's ignoring me, I would ignore me too sometimes!!! Landry's trying to pick up some puffs, but she doesn't quite have the pointer thumb grasp yet. It's fun to try though! Landon holds his bottle. This is such a nice thing!

Look What I Can Do!

Addison started gymnastics about two months ago. She loves it. She is the youngest in her class. They do back bends and she couldn't do them. I can't show her how to do one because I can't do one to save my life. My friend Shelly can whip out a back bend. She was a gymnast though, and I was a swimmer. We didn't stretch! Anyway, Addison has this fierce determination (not sure where she gets that) and has been working and working on learning to do this. Well, last week she figured it out and has been showing them off ever since! Good for you Addison Kate! Mommy's so proud!

Big Pimpin'

So we have a new set of wheels. What we need is a minivan, but what we got (and I suppose we needed this too) is a Joovy Big Caboose. All the kids can ride. The twins have their spot and Addison has her spot. This thing is ridiculous. We already get lots of looks and comments, and this thing will attract more for sure. Addison can sit or stand. On the test drive around the neighborhood, she couldn't decide which to do! The stroller's great because there is a lot of room for the twins and the second seat is set up higher so that passenger has an unobstructed view! I love the new Joovy. It is a bit heavy and bulky, and I'm not quite sure if it will fit in the back of the 4-Runner. It surely must, otherwise it wouldn't be consumer friendly.

Bridgefest 2009

Every year I try to do the local 5K called the Bridgefest. This year Addison was going to do the half mile run, but we didn't have her number at the start, so David didn't send her off. Oh well, next year she will do it. I didn't plan to push the twins, but Addison wanted to hang out with her friend Taylor, so I pushed the twins on their first run and road race. They slept most of the way and received a lot of comments from onlookers! Of course my time was slow since I am very out of shape, but we had fun!

Next year we will ALL do the race! David can push the twins though!

Seven Months!

Here are some recent photos. Both babies went to the doctor this week and weighed in the 16 pound range. I think Landon caught up to Landry, but he was all fluffed up in warm ups so it's hard to say! Landon has finally started to roll several times a day now!

Landry had her first vegetable today. Sweet potatoes. She was all smiles. It's hard to feed a smiley baby! She never once made a sour face; she loved it!

Addison had her three year appointment today. She is 3 feet tall and weighs about 31 pounds. She has been complaining that her right leg hurts for about a month now. We have brushed it off as growing pains because at times it is the left, but we have to get an x-ray just to be sure we're not dealing with something else. David said she woke the other night making some weird noise and said she was getting the popcorn out of her leg. I'm thinking that can't be a good thing. But she has been practicing cart wheels, does her spins, rides her bike and everything else without much complaint, so hopefully it's nothing! She only mentions it when she is still. She started gymnastics last week and loved it.

6 months and See Who's Eating!

Landry and Landon had a big day today! They went to their six month well-baby visit! Here are the stats:

Landry
Weight: 15.4 (25th percentile)
Length: 25 1/2 (25th percentile)
Head: 16 (10th percentile)

Landon
Weight: 14.7 (25th percentile)
Length: 26 (10th percentile)
Head: 16 1/2 (10th percentile)

So we are moving along on the same line so that's a good thing! The doctor said they could start solids. I knew Landry would be ready and Landon would not be. Landry opened her mouth yesterday when I went to give her some antihistamine. Landon is still Mr. Chill and lays around and makes no attempt to move. We know he can move, we've seen him roll a couple of times, he's just quite content to lay there and watch the action. The doctor coined him a "couch potato."

In the last week, Landry has learned she can pull up on her knees. Hopefully she won't be crawling soon! That would mean baby-proofing and I'm not ready to do that yet!

Addison turned three today! She started the morning by leaving her paci in her room because three year olds don't use pacis. She did go to bed with it though, so she has not given it up forever. I am certain when we go to the dentist next week that the dentist won't be so pleased she is still using it. We did take it away for two month prior to the twins and then she just sucked her thumb like there was no tomorrow, and her teeth started shifting unevenly. At that point, we gave the paci back. At least it's soft and the suck is evenly distributed.

Anyway, her third birthday was a success. I told her she couldn't open her presents as soon as she got home from mother's day out because she had to wait for daddy. When she got home she looked for the Christmas tree and her presents. An indication that her birthday is too close to Christmas for sure! Here she is opening her presents:

Addison reports having a great birthday. Mommy had to leave before cooking dinner for a lab practice. I anticipated making her favorite: chicken, rice, with mixed vegetables. She loves baby corn so I bought a nice big can of it. At the last minute, a lab practice was scheduled, so I had to leave daddy with two crying babies and a three year old who wanted to play with her new Go Fish game. Luckily, Samantha next door was able to come and play the Go Fish with her!

Her birthday party is going to be at Jumpin' Joeys in a couple of weekends. Should be a good time!

Landry and Landon are six months old. In the last couple of weeks they both had ear infections. Poor Landry had a double ear infection. Landon got a tooth this week and Landry is pushing up on feet and hands and all fours too! The well baby visit will be next week since Landry is still on antibiotics. Landry and Landon are starting to look at each other more, hold hands and talk their twin language. It's pretty darn sweet! Landry is a little bit more aggressive, so if Landon is going to defend himself, he better get moving. That little man likes to just lay there!

I hope everyone had a joyful Christmas! Addison was very excited this year for Christmas. Well, she was worried that Santa would come into her room because she does not like his beard. I assured her he would not come into her room, and he would just leave the presents by the tree!

Today I took Landon to the doctor for a cough x 2 days and running nose x 7 days and he has his first ear infection. Poor baby! But, he did weigh 14 pounds!

On the night of Addison's Mother's Day Out Christmas program the temperature dropped to 32 degrees. It was raining so I told David I bet we see some snow soon! Sure enough, within the hour these huge snowflakes started to drop. They actually stuck and the next morning we had a nice layer of snow covering the roof, lawn, and car! Addison didn't want to have anything to do with it. Hmmm, hello, I'm from Wisconsin! Whose child is this? Anyway, it probably won't happen again for a long time so of course I took some pics!

It's not often the twins get out of their warm sleepers! I think they clean up pretty well. It's hard to believe they are growing so fast! They even notice each other now and smile at one another. Good times ahead!

The twins had their four month well baby visit this week. It's hard to believe they are already four months old.

Landry can roll from her belly to her back, pushes up, smiles, laughs, she noticed Landon and she reached for a toy this week. She can blow raspberries too!

Trick or Treat?

Addison was so excited to dress up as a ballerina for Halloween. She wore her pink ballerina costume in the morning for Mother's Day Out. She wore a purple one from my friend Leslie for trick-or-treating. She loved wearing the dresses and was upset when we had to take them off! She had so much fun going trick-or-treating with her cousins Tanner and Kennedy. She wasn't afraid to go to the door and say trick-or-treat. She was so excited when her Elmo bucket was filled up. The twins stayed at Nonnie and Popa's. Landon was not feeling well. His reflux was acting up. Landry just hung out with daddy. I didn't get a picture of the twins together in their pea in a pod costumes, but I'll try to this week. A little late, but that's ok!

Landry has decided that it is time to start moving. She rolled for the first time on October 20. I didn't catch it on film and had to wait for it to happen again. Now she is getting good at it. She can roll from her belly to her back over and over again. In fact, as soon as she does it, she fusses because she wants to be put back on her belly so she can do it again. She has figured out that she can throw her head back and the rest of her will follow. It's so darn cute! She is very happy when she does it.

Today we went to the pumpkin patch, which is also a Christmas tree farm. It was a little warm for a fall day, so we were overdressed in our long sleeves and jeans. Landon was a ghost and Landry was a black cat. They usually don't do well out of the house for a long period of time, but they seemed to enjoy the surroundings.

Today the babies had a very big day. They were baptized! Landry's Godparents are my sister, Debbie, and David's good friend, Raymond. Landon's Godparents are my good friend, Stacy, and my brother-in-law, John. The baptism went very well. Landry wore Addison's beautiful gown and Landon got his own little outfit.
